ISLAMABAD: Minister of State on Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi on Monday assured that assassinators of martyred Maulana Sami-ul-Haq will be apprehended soon and brought to justice, ARY News reported.
“The martyrdom of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq is a great loss to Islam and humanity,” said Shehryar Khan Afridi during his visit to Darul Uloom Haqqania at Akora Khattak.
He met with son of martyred religious scholar and prayed for the departed soul of his father.
Earlier at the outset of the proceedings today, the National Assembly offered Fateha for the departed soul of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-S (JUI-S) chief who was martyred in Rawalpindi by unknown assailants on Friday.
The JUI-S has suspected involvement of foreign elements in the murder of its late chief.
“It is confirmed to thousands of his followers, the party, Darul Uloom Haqqania and his family that martyrdom of Maulana was not an internal issue rather Indians, Afghans and other elements are involved in this act,” said a statement issued by the JUI-S.
The party’s official statement further noted, in a bid to hide their incompetence, some people were issuing differing accounts, dubbing it a domestic dispute to sectarian issue, as the motive behind the murder of the JUI-S leader.
